The first Palworld trailer was published approximately 2 and a half years ago, it generated a lot of buzz around the internet with the bold proposition, "What if Pokemon was FUCKED UP!?"
It follows that significant portion of the current buzz around the game takes the form of "Remember that fucked up pokemon game? It's out now." It's probably reasonable to think that some people just discovering the game are also reacting similarly to the original trailer reaction.
Yet somehow in the time since the original trailer:
- The discourse has been completely ceded to people who can't recall something that happened less than three years ago.
- It's taken less than three years for the most vocal reaction to things like this to shift from "BRAND but edgy? How provocative and cool (even if the game is probably cheaply made and a bit shit)" to "BRAND but edgy? This is outrageous! Mods! Mods!"
