I heard about this through the grapevine regarding like, hey if you like old styled dungeon crawling RPG type things like Wizardry or Etrian Odyssey, etc then this game is cool.
So I nabbed it last night and gave it some time both last night as well as some this morning. What I can say so far.

It's cozy! It's simple enough and progression is a slow grind, chipping away at map progress while gaining xp along the way and careful consideration of what to engage with regarding combat in a way I find nostalgic and comfy, I really like Etrian Odyssey a lot so it makes me think of this.

I like some of the systems at play here. The purification fuel stuff is cool. Some people tend to moan and groan at getting HP back at the end of combat depending on the game or what the game is trying to be and it almost seems to go against what one would consider the norm of games like these; however it comes at a cost. The more HP you recover after combat, you lose purification fuel. Reviving a character costs a flat 30 fuel per character. When fuel hits 0 you're sent back to base, the day passes and everything respawns.

Additionally to this point, you periodically find other like suitable basecamp locations as you progress, you can spend 30 food to move your camp to a different spot. The intent here is to start further along and spend less fuel getting to the point you're trying to get to, maximizing exploration progression of the map. I assume the tradeoff of this being that the food and material reservoirs that respawn near the initial camp site are more spread out at differing campsites. As a result of this, it might be the play to spend a few days at the starting point to get food built, then move out and spend a few days at a different site to maximize your progression in whatever direction you are intending to go.
In general so far I do rather like this game quite a bit and it's nice just having something to sit down and slowly chip away at without feeling the need to go fast, finish, etc. Also the FM Synth based OST of this game RIPS
