Something reminded me of this sketch from 1996, where the very nice and friendly neighbor dad complains that his kids are having trouble making friends in the area because he and his family are Nazis, and the media is being unfair to them when they just want to do their Nazism in peace. And also there are Nazi mimes who should be disdained because they're not being serious. People just being Nazis and being open about it was comically absurd at the time.
And today, the Sweden Democrats got the second most votes in our last general election! What a world.
