there's a lot of Linux jobs for cars because of some strange reasons. but its not like anyone I know is passionate about it beyond "cool let's put Linux on your car lol"
The buses in the city I live in run Linux. Unfortunately, I know this because the screens often crash/hang and have to be rebooted, showing the startup screen.
