I thought I had coded it so either is always possible, but looking at it again now it seems like only all dark is guaranteed, and I think maybe that also means all light is always impossible. I should find out for sure and make it clearer!
i got all dark a bunch of times in a row then got stuck trying to do all light, i think the closest i could get was 4 left
