When talking to each other, vampires shorten "vampire powers" to "vampowers", in order to make conversations using that common term more efficient. It's one of the things you get explained to you on your first day as a new vampire. But new vampires will occasionally slip up and say "vampowers" when talking to regular humans, too - if you hear that word, keep your guard up, because your new "friend" might not really be who they are attempting to appear to be to you, who is actually intended by them to be their new victim...
