I Am A Delight

Old queer trans woman from Norway. Mainly post in English. I write stuff sometimes. Expect bad jokes. Girls and cats are nice.

I still think one of the outstanding parts of the design of Tears of the Kingdom is how the depths, the underground world, is so completely, oppressively, and unyieldingly dark.
You need to bring a light, or you won't even see a wall in front of you. You won't see if the ground opens up.
There are dangers in the dark. You can't just walk forward and hope for the best. You can't kinda make out the shapes of everything like during the night.
No. This is dark.
And even when you use lights, they don't reach as far as they should, as if the darkness is actively trying to oppose you.
Honestly, chasing down, and activating all the light roots was so satisfying.
Finding ways to battle that darkness feels like a triumph.

At least, that was my takeaway.
