People talking about the current line of AI as if they truly believe it can learn, know, and think makes me roll my eyes so hard.
I've said this several times, but what we are calling AI these days doesn't know anything, it doesn't think anything. It doesn't know truth from falsehood, because it doesn't know, and you can't truly teach it. It doesn't have a mind, artificial or otherwise. It doesn't have thoughts, or opinions. No matter how much data you put into it.
It is little more than an advanced algorithm that regurgitates a combination of what is input in its database in a way that tries to make it look coherent. Whether the reply is true, or makes sense isn't relevant.
