I like it. You track down, and clear dungeons by day, and interact with the locals in the evening.
Completing quests unlocks new things, and collecting stamps from dungeon-clearing lets you access more dungeons.
And you can find treasure chests that may contain some new weapon, or armour piece. From what I can gather, achieving a certain level of attack or defence score will raise your rating in either category, which seems like it's intended to show which areas are suitable for you.
There is also unique magic to each area which gives you certain abilities. For the demo area, a snowy mountain, you get a snowboard for movement, and a laser beam for hitting switches.
I wouldn't say the combat is particularly complicated, but it does the job. Same with the puzzles.
Inceasing your friendship/affection with the locals unlocks new perks for you, and there are some interesting characters among them.
It's one of those rare games where it's hard for me to say "it's like this or that other game". Sure, I could describe it as a third-person action adventure RPG, but they seem to have achieved their own blend here. Hopefully it works out for them.
