i guess the thing for me, watching this election cycle, is feeling like there is no line the democrats can cross that will make people stop seeing them as their saviors.
like yes, trump is bad, and i'm scared of what the election outcome will be too. but when i see people capitulate to this state of the world out of fear, rather than taking steps to wrest power from the state instead, it makes me feel like: i can't trust you. because the line for what you will tolerate will keep moving further and further until i'm fully on the other side of it, and that will not outweigh your fear.
so i just need people to have lines they won't cross. i don't need to know them; they can be absurd; i just need to have some feeling like there's something that you aren't willing to sacrifice.
