Suddenly started thinking about Xenonauts again for some reason. I used to play that game a bunch, but I never got around to actually finishing a campaign. Lots of memories, though.
Like the time my trooper carrying the rocket launcher turned a corner, and saw an alien immediately nearby. It was too close to fire without blowing them both up, so I dropped the rocket launcher, equipped the stun baton, knocked down the alien, and picked the rocket launcher back up.
Being able to do things like that is part of why I like that style of game.
I was doing a let's play for a while, but it ate up way too much time. It became a struggle to keep up my interest in putting that amount of time and effort into it.
I'm still a little confused on what makes Xenonauts 2 a sequel... based on everything I've seen, it feels more like a redo. An update. Since it's still in early access, I haven't bothered trying it. The original game is a complete product, so I'd rather play that again.
Still... them actually attaching a number to it rather than just a subtitle is probably for the better. It feels more like transparency, and it's appreciated.
