Standing at the cheese shelf reminded me of the old Jarlsberg commercial where the woman goes "gulost er gulost", and upsets her husband who wanted specifically Jarlsberg, so he swaps out her dog. "Hund er hund."
Anyway! Jarlsberg is genuinely different from Norvegia, or other typical yellow cheeses. It's not just a brand thing. But when it comes to a simple cheddar mix, I feel like there's probably not a ton of difference between Tine, Synnøve, or Appetina. So I just picked the cheapest one.
