So after the 6-7 years I've owned them, the left sticks of both my Switch Pro controllers have gone bad.
Not completely broken, but...
On the one I use for my PC, it doesn't always register a full push in the down-right direction, so for instance it will make a character walk instead of run in that direction.
Which can get you killed during a boss fight in something like Code Vein where you actually need fully responsive controls in all directions while locked on.
On the one I use for my Switch it will sometimes just... go left without me pushing in that direction. Just seemingly without input, it sometimes goes left on its own.
Other buttons are starting to feel sluggish as well, but the sticks are the biggest problems. Sure I've had them for over half a decade, but I still feel like they've degraded too fast.
And they're so expensive to replace.
Maybe I should have kept one of my PS4 controllers when I sold the damn thing just to use for PC, but honestly I don't... really like the playstation controllers that much. They don't feel right to me.
I did attempt buying a third-party turbo controller, which was slightly cheaper, but the left stick was absolutely horrible, so I had to immediately return it. I don't think it was broken, I think it was just really poorly designed.
Also it was light as a feather, which was kinda unsettling.
I've never really thought of the pro controller as particularly heavy either, but it has some real heft compared to that thing.
