I swear the more that comes out about the completionist charity scandal, the less sense it all makes. It's so weird!

Jirard has made like... basically the worst choice at every possible junction here, even when people were trying to give him an out. What's that saying? They gave him a ton of rope to pull himself out of this, and instead he tied it into a noose?

Due to the legal threats he made, Muta and Karl decided to stop covering for him, and released the full discord call they had together. It's some really damning shit.

Why would you go on that call, Jirard? Well, okay, it sounded like he thought he had a good shot at convincing (guilt tripping) them out of releasing their videos. Also insinuating that hush money was an option. It didn't work.

So why would you openly threaten them when you knew they had this super damning call?

Why did you openly admit to embezzlement in your own response video while trying to claim you hadn't embezzled anything? I guess you didn't understand that was what you were saying, but you need a better lawyer who would have caught that before it went live.

And I still don't understand what the plan was. Like, if this was a big plan to build his reputation, increase his following, get more subs (of both twitch and youtube variety), hang out with devs and celebrities...

I mean, it worked, but he should have been smarter about it. All it took to cause all of this to tumble down was one person actually taking a closer look, and tipping off an investigator. This was inevitable. It would have happened eventually. It was just a matter of time.

If he had simply donated the money every year, this would have been all win for him. I think he could have gotten away with just donating most of the money, rather than all of it. Just donate a believable amount. Get some receipts, and statements from the charities to show off, and brag about. You might have escaped notice for much longer.

Sure it would have ruined whatever the family had planned to do with that money, but he was basically riding on top of youtube's "this guy is safe and advertiser-friendly" list. Why not put a little more effort into covering your ass?

The whole situation is so fucking weird.

Two other recent developments in the jirard charity alleged fraud thing I believe both happened yesterday?

1. The Sea of Stars devs announced they'll be patching his cameo character "the builder NPC in Mirth" out of the game, and replacing him with a guy called Bob. I see what they did there.
2. Karl Jobst released a 90-second clip from their discord call where Jirard tries to guilt trip them, and goes "I'm not saying I'm offering you hush money... unless"

I have been keeping track of the situation, since I find it all very disgusting, and also somewhat fascinating to see it play out, and it feels like at least once a week something new shows up. Like this thing.
There is absolutely zero fucking way this is true, and I have no idea why he would just throw out an obvious lie like that. 600k to 750k A YEAR?
I mean, he has been to shown to just lie and lie and lie no matter what happens, so I suppose it's just second nature to him, but jesus fucking christ it never ends.

So I made the regretful decision to actually watch Jirard the completionist's 20-minute response video about the whole charity mess that dropped like a day or two ago, and boy is it a doozey. Is that the word? I feel like I've heard that saying.

And I've seen all these reactions like "Oh wow, he did so good, he answered every question, he showed so much evidence", and I'm just like... did he? Did he, though?
And then worst of all comments that "he did nothing wrong" which is like... did you actually watch the video? Because he does explicitly admit that he fucked up, should have done better, and wants to take responsibility. He claims he legally didn't do anything wrong, but that's not the same thing.

Let's go through this a bit. (Or a lot.)
