This probably occurred to other people before me, but it hit me that the whole open hand foundation mess, and the $655 000 number does not include anything from this year.
Right?

$655 000 was what they had filed at the end of 2022. But how much did indieland, and the golf open challenge thing raise this year?

Indieland 2023's Tiltify page lists $64,315.95 in direct donations. Bits, subs, merch sales, etc are not included. Plus the filing for how much Jamie Lee Curtis's Starlight Children's Foundation granted them this year is not yet available, but it's been $20k to $25k every year so far.

2023 PBD Convenience Cup Challange has a photo that shows according to their own pricing tiers that at a minimum they raised $50 500. Which does not include smaller sponsors, raffle sales, any direct donations on site, etc.

If we take only those two known numbers, that's a bare minimum of $114,815.95

The $600K donation to AFTD was absolutely a good thing, but there's still so much money unaccounted for.

2019 was when the golf cup numbers started going weird, and 2020 onwards they vanished, in spite of showing photos of their sponsors, and sponsor tiers all along. So 2019-2022 that's like a minimum of $200k unaccounted for.

Rough, sleepy math: that's a total of over $950k ($655k in account at 2022 tax filing, + $114k this year + minimum $200k unaccounted golf money).

Deduct $600k from that, and there's still at least $350k they need to donate somewhere.

Maybe we'll get an update on that soon. I hope so, at least.
