most comic artists enjoy drawing exaggerated expressions the most, but for some reason i think i really like drawing the subtle ones. i love the unreadable stares, the hidden disappointment, the "i just registered shock, but i'm still processing it." right now i'm drawing someone looking at themselves in the mirror and it's like, you know intuitively what that expression looks like but you don't really think about it, probably.
the funny thing to me is that i rarely even use these expressions for subtle storytelling or anything, they're usually for a punchline! but i guess that's what happens when you're a fan of dry humor
