**another one of my drafts; this one will probably be re-written into a proper article on my website, but i wanted to share the thoughts early anyway

esperanto gets a pretty bad rap both inside and outside the conlang community, but i think a lot of it is very unfounded. you're allowed to personally dislike the language or how it's constructed, but it's an insanely impressive language that's refused to die. over time, i've grown a huge appreciation for the language, and wanted to be able to share that with you all.

  1. isn't it a dead language? a failed project?

esperanto is not a dead language. its goal of being a universal language did not technically succeed if we're going by the definition of "the majority of the planet speaks the language," but few languages could. it's still regularly used online and in real life, with a population of native speakers and large meetings/conventions.

while it doesn't have as many speakers as english (and again, no language does), it still has a sizable number of speakers. exact numbers are difficult, but wikipedia says anywhere from 100,000 to 2,000,000. this is larger than some languages you might know! hawaiian only has about 20,000 speakers, for example.

palu soy polukyu! myu tay legi, a guyo e kwepagi.

After about a month's work, I finally finished overhauling Taynmoga, my previous conlang! Dasopya is an auxlang where every root word is 2 syllables or less, with a vocabulary below 1,000 words. It is not yet 100% finished, but the foundation is complete and the base vocabulary (most common ~200 words or so) will stay rather stable.

For those who know Taynmoga, a lot of the grammar/documentation will be familiar, but a good bit was changed in order to make the language a lot more usable. I'm aiming for a vocabulary of about 800 roots so that there's a wider range of expression, and the larger roots allow words to be differentiated more easily in speech. Unlike Taynmoga, I am also much more interested in supporting and promoting Dasopya, so expect to see it pop up more in the future.

hi everybody i did not plan to make another language, but then i did anyway!
Taynmoga is an a priori oligosynthetic auxlang where every word is one syllable long.
More info: https://www.vecderg.com/taynmoga

it's based on the same fundamental ideas that my first conlang Kaliwe was built on, but was developed to be a more full and usable language. if you're interested in its development, please tell me your thoughts! i largely made it as a proof of concept, and if there's no interest then i have no plans to develop it any further.

you can find it on the document and main website, but here's the direct link:

this guide should help highlight the most important words and give the most practical basics on the language for anyone interested
