It feels a little silly to review a game like Super Monkey Ball 2, but I did say I'd review everything I've finished on stream. Anyway, it's good, well-paced, arcade-y ball-rolling action, and if you like challenging-but-fair games about rolling balls around, you've probably already played it. The Story Mode is a huge addition to the series, both by adding an actual narrative to the game, and by giving you access to what's effectively a practice mode so you can learn the basic courses and clear them more effectively in Arcade Mode. There are one or two stages that require memorization to clear, which isn't great, but, for the most part, course design is fantastic. And, of course, the party mini-games are a fun bonus. On the off-chance you've never played it before, it might be better to go for Banana Mania or the indie clone Rolled Out!, but this game's a classic for a reason.
Oh, but if you do pick up either of those modern ball-rollers, consider getting a Gamecube repro or another controller with octagonal gates. It really helps with the precision you need for certain stages. The Gamecube really was the perfect console for the originals.
