I just had the wildest theory form in my brain, are you even ready for this one?

It's possible that Informative Lets Plays were a way for people with undaignosed autism to infodump without being prompted.

Am I right? Am I wrong? I am not sure, but every time I explain my SA LP Trans theory I get back a "yeah"

(for context my SA LP Trans theory is that because SA disincentivized Face Cams you got to just be a voice over a videogame, not only did you not get clowned on for looking "goony" because you were detached from the idea of masculinity & therefore did not put any effort into your appearance, but you also got to dodge all sorts of things like ~gender roles and expectations~ and all of this, for the most part, happened subconsciously)

I need someone who knows they have autism and did informative lets plays to tell me that I'm right or that I'm way off base.

Not ALL of them necessarily were but like very very many of them absolutely were and it was for precisely that reason that they were good. Like what made them enjoyable was how the let's player knew fucking everything about the game and could show off things you never would have noticed on your own or could add lots of context and game dev backstory or asides that just really made things wonderful.

I mean, Let's Break Pokémon Blue was such an amazing classic and it wasn't really about playing pokémon it was about explaining how all these weird glitches worked very fully with nothing left out
