I've got some gnarly facial scars ICly, too, and am usually wearing a holotank headset that makes me look a little more palatable to the average Jo(e).
That being said, at one point while I was performing, I had to take the visor off so it could do -other- holographic stuff, and for that purpose I asked a local crafter to make me a new eye - porcelain with a seam of gold to match up with the scar - and then used simple syrup, a paintbrush, and gold leaf to have kintsugi keloid. ^_^ The party went great! Everyone loved the outfit, and I got a new calacatta black marble eye for when I -don't- have the werewithal to do makeup.
