incredible that the speculoos, a belgian cookie nobody actually ever knows the name of, is so popular that people took one look at it and went "what if we turned this shit into a paste"
between that and stroopwafels (a word I haven't heard anyone outside this corner of the world pronounce correctly) the low countries really are full of baked goods that americans will go absolutely gaga over while also being super obscure to them
i know the biscoff brand is hard to come by around here, but i am glad at least around christmas lidl does its store brand baked good and you can buy a pound and a half of speculoos cookies for cheap

oh yeah, speculoos (or speculaas as it's called up here in holland) is super cheap, even the good stuff - not surprised lidl has it when they make it in parts of germany too, IIRC <3
apparently speculaas is a completely different kinda cookie I am learning. Uses specific herbs that make it a distinctly different thing
strooop-waaff is how I've always heard it... dunno if that's correct.
