Despite everything going on right now I'm glad we're in a position where queer kids have like, you know, visible older queers to look up to, which is really not something I had in 200-fucking-2. Hell I basically didn't even know what non-binary was until like 2015 and I don't think I really understood it well until like 2018, maybe early 2019.
Because I went through this (i was, as the kids say, Posting Through It) on twitter in late '21 early '22 and I think my twitter & cohost circles have diverged quite a bit at this point I would like to lay out the cliffs notes:
If you are:
- thinking that being a cis man or woman sucks
- thinking it would be good to be non-binary but gosh darnit you just don't think HRT makes any sense for your situation in particular
You are overthinking it. Just be your idealized self. Whether or not you want HRT doesn't make you any more or less trans if you're unhappy being cis.
