Tasogare no Ode is something of a meme kusoge in the Japanese gaming community.

I'd already heard of the game, but whether it's because I forgot about it or never looked tooo hard into it to begin with, I've only just today learned about its meme status. To explain, the game's notable feature, as far as the memes are concerned, is the battle system, in which the player can write their own spells and have the characters cast them in battle by singing. Think Treasure of the Rudras by way of Vocaloid. Tasogare no Ode being a 1996 PlayStation game, the results are unsurprisingly stilted, and the Japanese gaming community has spent the past twenty seven years or so memeing the shit out of the game. Not helping matters is the CG introduction where the protagonist looks like this:

Put them together, and you have a genre of YouTube video ("オードロイド") in which that stoic mug belts out songs in that limited voice range of his.

Almost forgot to mention this game seems to be treated as a kind of sibling game to Ancient Roman, another legendarily bad PS1 JRPG with silly CG faces.
