Fursona lore is so weird, like. I've always thought of Vixie as living in a small Chicago suburb in an apartment b/c that's where I wrote the first story with her. And it just fits? Even though it's not the picture perfect place.
Like, her ideal would definitely be a cabin out in the woods with like 100 acres between her and anyone else, and just some friends to live with. But that's not feasible! internet would be crap out there, there's no takeout, and friends are so far away. It's hard to be lazy if you live 30 minutes from a grocery store, let alone any kind of fast food
So Chicago suburb is the mix of "still able to get conveniences of life and see folks" without being Too in the city. And I just pretend that the metro is better so she doesn't need a car, even for long trips. And if she does need to drive out to nowhere, Zen can take her.
It's interesting that my idealized self still has to make concessions and doesn't live a fairy tale life, but lives an idealized and achievable real one, just one step away from reality instead of completely divorced
aside from, y'know, the kink stuff.
