Been trying out Paladin lately and I honestly thought I'd hate it due to aesthetics, and I do kinda hate the guy who is training you cause like, he talks about this solemn duty to protect people then sends me off to light a brazier and kill monkeys attracted by the incense, like dude they just checking out some smells and you want me to kill em? Kinda fucked. Why not send me to deal with bandits or some shit not monkeys.
Fucking cops.
YEAH the Paladin quests are mocked constantly by the playerbase, and for good reason! (And I say this as someone who likes the overall aesthetic and gameplay of PLD, but seriously? "Cops in the most obviously rancid city-state" was the best they could do??)
I did more crime fighting as a gladiator. Yet the Paladin guy thinks people look down on them because one dude stole a sword, no they look down on you cause you just light fires and kill animals.
I should note I don't hate the class I kinda jive with what I've played, people say it is a simple class and I kinda fuck with simple.
I wasn't impressed with the gladiator quests ("Damn, all y'all suck."), but so far the paladin quests are just... what? Why am I killing monkeys? What does this have to do with justice/glory/whatever?
