I try to get motivation to do art and I play bideo games, also I shit post and horny post.

I think the obsession with better and better graphics actively harms gaming, this isn't me saying games with good graphics are bad but just, there is often so much emphasis on the game looking extremely good.

Not only does it eat up a ton of dev time that could be used to polish up code, implement interesting/fun gameplay, or even be used to nail down the art style in a way that is more then just realism.

Dev time aside, having a game with less intense graphics means that more people can enjoy them. I am someone that has a damn good computer, it isn't the best in the world because I didn't want to spend a fortune on it, but I can run almost anything. There are some games that still chug if I put them at max graphics and it honestly doesn't look much better imo.

In the end to me a solid art style is 100% more interesting then super realism. It is the same with physical drawn art and paintings, sure the photorealistic painting is impressive on a technical level but the abstract surrealist painting has so much more to say to me.
