If it is, that will officially be my signal to try and transition to using linux. I'm currently on windows 11 and it's less comfortable than windows 10.

if the next windows is cloud computing and relies on it.. it's essentially a glorified chromebook. I dont trust cloud services to store vital and sensitive files. Not to mention the ownership aspect of it.

i watched this video a few days ago and ive been thinking about it a bit since:

I'm still on 10, and if bill gates tells me "oh please wont you upgrade to a new OS, you might loose support for all of your cool stuff ๐Ÿฅบ" then ill probably switch. ive been trying popOS on my laptop since you can get it with nvidia drivers preinstalled, but the package store/manager is not that great. I might look into a different distro soon

My main issue with linux is gaming and the fact that I have a full amd laptop. I know there's compatibility layers like wine, and steamOS kinda kicking linux support up a notch.

I'm not a massive productivity user, so i can easily switch to OSS office programs. I use PS/AI cs6 for image stuff (not prof), and finding alternatives im comfy with will be a bit of a task
