Outlining a set of stories towards the end of Nature's Revolver, where Yvonne is invited to a hero's wedding. The pair tying the knot are retiring, with one confessing they were also a villain the entire time; so the entire event in a near-even mixture of villains and heroes, and their plus ones of henches and side-kicks.
This is very final chapter, and not quite yet the epilogue stories, but one thing I quite like is the comicbook'ness of it is so very normalized. The people invited have all done terrible and terrific things, the impossible and the outstanding, that for what Yvonne has done its not that its not impressive, its that most have already done something comparable.
Her reputation as a villain now feels well-earned, she might not be liked but she is respected. She is someone that has acquired a long history, that others acknowledge and ask her about. She has nothing left to prove from so many high-octane adventures and moments that add to her legend.
I don't know, its like having that TTRPG character you like, having survived the campaign and can look back on everything. I don't think its even the appeal of downtime that balances with the action that I like here. Its on the tip of my tongue.
Its like we're getting the resolution, the rewards of sticking with the story, and seeing how the character has developed. Tempest remarks that Yvonne could've been one of the good guys, which she replies: "You know the reason for my name, the thing I wanted most was to start over with a clean Slate."
