So I have been helping my local card shop with organizing their Yu-Gi-Oh singles. Been doing it the past two days, total time is 11 hours with roughly over 9k cards set alphabetized. That's circled in blue is what's been done so far. I have roughly 10k more to go, so the hope is I can finish this all today and tomorrow, at least how it's set up right now.
Now I have to take a three step process to organize these cards. Unlike Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't have any set symbols, just a 3 to 4 letter set name labeled on them. I am having to organize these by alphabetizing the set, then I can work on separating sets, then I can alphabetize them.
It's weird to say, the brain damaging effects this is all having on me is filling me with nostalgia. I still have my decks, I just haven't played in forever. I also like looking at the arts of the cards, how they can shift from more cartoonish to a darker themed anime, if that makes sense.
I love this shop, I'm also good friends with the owners so I am more than happy to provide a helping hand where I can. The place is going through some remodeling so it looks like a mess, but the hope is to organize and have things ready by New Years day.
