"sentence mining" is sort of a double edged sword in language acquisition. picking out problem sentences and adding them to my daily Anki routine REALLY does help me acclimate to unfamiliar sentence structures and irregular verb conjugations. HOWEVER starting every day with problem sentences gives me a false impression that i'm stagnating! because it never gets easier! and that's the point! comprehending my target language DOES get easier, and encountering challenging sentences becomes less frequent, but it's very discouraging starting every morning struggling to comprehend my target language on purpose.

this website outlines the philosophy i've been using to learn spanish: https://refold.la/

i think the roadmap is a little overly clinical, but the idea at it's core is that you "get used" to languages rather than learning them. essentially you learn the very basics of your language (Language Transfer is great for this) then expose yourself to as much of your target language as possible. listening to podcasts, watching television, playing video games, reading novels, etc. and being comfortable with the ambiguity as things steadily make more sense. it works! really well, even! and it's free!
