So the problem I have with Christmas stuff starting up on November 1 is that Christmas is supposed to be special, and if Christmas lasts two months then on any given day there's a ⅙ chance it's Christmas, and that means it's Christmas more often than it's Tuesday

i know "christmas creep" is a concept but i like to imagine it's actually a type of guy in the holiday compendium. new to the christmas mythology with santa claus, rudolf, and frosty the snowman comes the Christmas Creep! when the children hear "last christmas" by wham on october 28th, they throw up their hands in jubilee, click their heels, toss their newsboy hats in the air and cry "what joy! the christmas creep has returned early once again! a christmas miracle!"

Exactly. Christmas basically feels like one FOURTH of the year, because of this weird economic situation where October starts up and people start talking about how certain companies need a good Christmas season to do well for the year.
