THE WHITE BELLBIRD??? THAT SOUNDS INCREDIBLE. i have never heard anything like it before.
I'd also like to mention the Cassowary which can make an insanely deep 23hz tone that sounds like a straight up rumbling sine wave. It's seriously mind blowing. You can really only hear it on video with decent headphones or a subwoofer. https://youtu.be/3wB3BKHmxZ4?t=46
Isn’t the white bellbird the bird with the loudest call? Like, it’s mating viability is determined by how well it can deafen potential partners?
It is the loudest bird on earth, I'm not sure about the latter point!
First bird call I was ever able to identify was the Northern cardinal coz to me it sounded like a broken robot. Wheeeeeeeeeer wheeeeeeeeeer wheeeeeeeeeer doot!doot!doot!doot!doot!
these are incredible (and thank you for the volume warning - I wasn't sure because of the lead up but did it anyway and was therefore not immediately killed)
