gf uses ableton and recommends Puremagnetik's drum pack and Flatpack's electronik drums
they cost money iirc but many things allegedly cost money. sorry didn't notice the "free" part until just now :x

she was looking at them and Microdrum is the one she likes best (from Puremagnetik) for the cheesy prefab drum sound you're describing

Look into drum machines from the 60's and 70's, like the Mini Pops or CR-78, as well as Casio drum machine samples or plugins. Depending on which version of Ableton you use, you might have free access to a big library of drum machines from Ableton directly such as this, which has a CR-78 pack I use often. https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/drum-machines/
