there was one prof here (retired, not around anymore) who always seemed kinda quiet and nice and enthusiastic and then while cleaning out a lab, i found correspondence that more or less went like "here is a donation of (significant sum of money) for the reaching arab nations for christ foundation, please do not publish my name"
so like cool cool he's a weird proselytizer and knows what the optics on that look like but does it anyway
