
Every time i try it the entire experience is a stressful hell that costs a lot of money and leaves me feeling bad so my motivation is continually through the floor
yeah the fear that it just won't help has been the driving force behind my reluctance. but it's worked for friends so i'm gonna give it a shot.
The really shitty thing about therapy is how much searching you have to do. You can get stuck with a therapist whose process isn't helpful for you, who might even inadvertently do more damage, especially with trauma stuff.
It can be the case that you need to heal some really core things before you gain the senses you need to leave a therapist who isn't working for you, but if they're not working for you, you're probably not healing a whole lot. And to top it off, healing often hurts a lot, one way or another.
