i'm not even being pedantic, these are the resident gulls of corpus christi. you will not find a parking lot out here without two dozen laughing gulls fighting over garbage. they're wonderful. if you wanted to find a gull with a white head and a yellow bill you could maybe find one or two ring-billed gulls if you drove out to a water treatment facility in port aransas, but even then they will be scarce (and are still not the gull featured on the sign).
nobody has ever seen a wild puffin in texas.
i don't think anyone who made decisions about this airport has even been here.
