i'm at a point where if companies want to sell me shit what would actually work is giving it the worst packaging possible. the more it looks like it could be in an unboxing video, the more likely i will assume it was made with flimsy components.

loose leaf tea sold in an elaborate decorative tin? well SOMEONE is trying to compensate for something.

loose leaf tea in an unbranded plastic bag? clearly this was carefully selected by a tea sommelier. it would look great in my decorative tin!

You know, I think that's fair. You're just going to throw away most packaging anyways.

I've read somewhere that liquor companies spend a lot on market research for bottle shapes and logo designs because you can convince people to pay more for cheaper alcohol just because it has a cool bottle.

Trufax. The most durable piece of tech I own is probably my MiST FPGA, which came in a fucking steel box from some guy in Poland who takes things like compliance Very Seriously, and could probably be fired safely out of a cannon to no appreciable harm to the device (the target on the other hand, I cannot vouch for).
