you're supposed to find and knock over these things in both versions and in the remake they just blend right into the rest of the street since they're just a normal street sign instead of being a triangular and glowing gameplay doohickey

that explains why i had a hard time with this level in the remake despite not having a hard time with it when i was younger lmao.

my favorite version of this is Monster Hunter going from one of the easiest-to-read games visually I've ever played, to MH World where the maps are one big hideously-busy high-visual-noise HD graphics piece that requires a constant floating "GO HERE, THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR" light in front of you to be playable

buy I sure hope Wilds looks more like Rise than it does World, but the fan base has overwhelmingly spoken that what they want is more World so I'm not holding my breath

Even Mechwarrior managed to have this issue after 4 despite the fact you're in a mech full of sensors for IR, radar, magnetic anomaly, etc dust, leaves, camo paint etc. should not be obstructing my vision, and yet

Back in my day you'd paint your mech purple if you felt like it and it wouldn't matter because you're trying to conceal a fusion reactor covered in guns that runs so hot it'll kill you, the pilot, from guys with IR cameras

Definitely, and from what little gameplay footage we have, Wilds doesn't seem to have the issue of just, clutter that makes it impossible to pick out resource nodes and such, at least, nearly as badly, so, here's hoping!

Monster Hunter World was such a nightmare for me to navigate. Only near the end did I start to appreciate some of the things it had to offer, but I was constantly lost in the menus and visual noise when I never had that issue with previous monhuns, straight up made me dizzy and gave me headaches at first too. It's a big part of why I don't play a lot of modern "AAA" games often. Really hoping Wilds isn't like World in that way too.
