This is the kind of stuff I would LOVE to be doing if I wasn't disabled, so your videos scratch the part of my brain that wants to bring home all the e-waste and just take it apart and see wtf it does and how it's put together. I restrict myself to sbc projects because even if I piddle around with them for months at a time it will eventually be functional at something.

Coinstar is wild because you put your money in, they take 12% off the top for the privilege, and give you a little slip you have to take to a cashier somewhere else in the store so you can get your money back. They break all the time and are a massive pain in the ass for the workers in those stores. They recently added screens to the top of them that play adver-tainment videos on a roughly 10 minute loop. I'm not surprised they don't exist in Europe.

No ill will towards this little guy, though. He seems nice.

Something about framing these as "little guys" messes with my perception a bit. Like, on the one hand, swapping in a DVI connector is a really interesting idea and I was genuinely fascinated to learn if it would work. But on the other hand, the computer in question was described as a "little guy," so I'm also anxiously awaiting news on if its surgery has gone well.
