Don’t use cohost — it’s made by well-meaning leftists on their first business venture. A dramatically bad-faith reading of the ToS suggests they could do anything with your posts, including displaying them to other users. Instead choose a social network made by experienced businessmen such as Mark Zuckerberg or Elon Musk
it's really sad how quick people are to discredit cohost. "it has no numbers! it has tags like tumblr! it has no algorithm!"
okay, but hear me out:
- numbers and their consequences (clout-chasing) have been a disaster for the internet
- the tagging system here is literally just better than twitter's hashtag system, idk what to tell you
- the no algorithm part is good too, i don't want to be spoonfed posts from random celebrities and advertisers because the code predicted i'd like it
like sure you don't get the same dopamine rush but have you considered that being addicted to social media is bad for you actually?
