Creatura cognitohazard. Makes silly cringe content.
Will be posting mainly Fallen London, The Dark Crystal, and Rain World.
Cards: Hoards gambling winnings, with a greater motivation to win things that have interesting stories behind them. Cards keeps and frames a chip or card from games where it wins something special, and hangs the framed token in the hall leading to the private quarters of its yacht. Cards hoard extends to some rather bizarre abstracts, as it views things like its relationships with the other Masters as something it won as a result of gambling.
Honey: Hoards insects, with a special delight for beetles with beautiful, shiny carapaces. It keeps them both alive and as preserved specimens, with a portion of its lodgings dedicated to insect husbandry. This is why Fires trades Honey a "bee" in one of the arts.
Biography: Hoards tales of people's lives, extending to things like souls and memories preserved in honey. Written accounts are its favorite, and if a particular subject is deceased but Bio thinks of a good "additional story" for them, it will disguise itself using the Correspondence and essentially LARP as them so it can add a new chapter to their story. Getting caught doing this was what got it exiled from Curator society proper. This can also lead to emotional turmoil in the case of observing people it has an investment in, struggling to choose which story is more worthy.
Waves: Hoards memories in general, but specializes in a method that binds a memory to a stone, allowing the user to repeatedly experience the memory as if it were the first time. For a time, it tortured itself for a failure by repeatedly viewing the memory of the failure. With the help of the Fortunate Navigator and the Chiropterus Hoarder, it's able to overcome this bad habit.
Ash/Calendula: Hoards medical knowledge and supplies. Their practice is open to any species they have knowledge of, and they're constantly attempting to add to their knowledge base to expand their practice. One can barter for treatment, as they'll accept a full recounting of one's health history, prior medical treatments, and any medical knowledge one has as payment.
Doc/Docket: Hoards wealth in a general, abstract sense, but loves having actual currency the most. She's always looking to expand her business holdings, establish new factories, etc. She's a simple lass who just loves her coin.
El Wiwi: It's actual name is Gold, and this reflects its love of the metal, though it also enjoys other precious beautiful metals. It prefers wearable items the most, with necklaces and arm bands being the most preferable.
Poppy: Hoards fallen glory as both an abstract concept of art and writing regarding such events, and actual tokens. It loves to make paintings depicting the fall of its foes. It is its own crowning treasure in its hoard, as a former Vake hunter who was slowly seduced into battiness by the "Vake". (Actually Honey playing the role of the Vake after the death of the original in that timeline)
Fankids: As a fun bonus, the weird Curator birth circumstance will also be listed for those that have it decided!
Scales: Hoards fish and butterflies/moths. It disdains reptiles as hoard items for no discernable reason. It frequently barters with Mr. Transport to borrow ships to go on zailing expeditions once it's old enough, bringing back new acquisitions for its menagerie. It greatly prefers living specimens, and maintains staff who care for them in its frequent absence. Scales was born at zee during a raging storm, much to Cards utter horror and dismay.
Wool: Collects wool, products made from wool, and animals that bear woolly fibers. It has no special preference for any one thing, and enjoys frequently going through its hoard and deciding to trade away less favorable items. It's a quality over quantity kind of bat.
Parabola: Hoards mathematical knowledge, including things heavily mathematical like architectural knowledge. It rather intensely hoards mathematicians, architects, and engineers. While it will gladly take steps to extend the lifespans of its favored workers, its fussy and precise workaholic attitude can make it difficult to deal with. Parabola was born while several mathematicians solved what was thought to be an impossible theorem, much to Honey's utter horror and dismay. (Honey has great difficulty with numbers.)
Hooves: Collects all manner of hooved animals and products made from them, such as cheese, horns, meat, etc. It would like to maintain larger herds, but as a bachelor still living with its siblings, it has neither time nor space at the moment. It likes necklaces made of hooves, enjoying the click clacky sound.
Clay: Hoards items made from clay, such as beads, vases, etc. It also hoards knowledge on material and method, and highly values relationships with those who can teach it. It has a very gentle attitude for a Curator, and prefers to have mentors rather than employees.
Pelage: Hoarded furs, skins, and pelts. It's birthing circumstance required Waves to obtain another Curator's pelt, starting in motion the chain of events that would see Waves become a locomotive captain.
Petals: Hoards flowering plants, was born on a room in the locomotive that was temporarily converted into a greenhouse.
Fangs: Hoards dangerous, monstrous beasts and their products. Delights in keeping them alive once she's an adult, keeps property for a menagerie while exploring the High Wilderness on her locomotive.
Cricket: Very, very narrowly escaped the terrible fate of being named Mr. Balls. Collects balls, marbles, sports equipment, and frequently attempts to hoard players and teams.
Vetiver: Hoards things with interesting smells, very skilled at turning things into perfumes. Has a close relationship with its sibling, Petals, usually managing to find good trades rather than fighting over resources.
Batbayar: Hoards long, thin, twisty things like ropes, ribbons, and snakes, with snakes being its favorite. It enjoys having at least one snake on it at any given time, and enjoys decorating itself and those it is close to with intricately knotted ribbons.
Carver: Hoards carvings, engravings, etc in a variety of materials. It is born once its parents return to the High Wilderness, and Bio spends a comfortable pregnancy carving the walls of a room in their home to birth in.
Flickers: Hoards films, animations, etc. It's favorite movie is the one that's just a horse running, and Doc had to watch it in repeat during her labor. It's ultimate goal is to record the locomotion of every kind of creature on film.
Cards: Scales (sired by Wines), various under construction kids, Cards enjoys raising pups n almost always has one under the wing later on
Honey: Transport (born from Spices, has a second secret sire), Parabola (sired by Iron), under construction litter born from Poppy, under construction far future litter sired by Spices
Biography: Carver (sired by Cups)
Waves: Pelage (sired by Hues, deceased), Petals (sired by the Chiropterus Hoarder), Vetiver, Fangs, and Cricket (born from the Chiropterus Hoarder)
Ash: Under construction twins (sired by Pennies)
Doc: Flickers (sired by Fires)
Canon Batties fankids:
Wines (father) and Spices (mother): Hooves, Clay
Veils (father) and Fires (mother): Wool
Note that to varying degrees, all have some amount of natural batty smell. Also, if there is something small n silly like this you'd like to know about the bats, let me know and a second edition of batty infos can be published.
Cards: Whiskey, raw honeyed tobacco, fire smoke, lil hint of musty/mildew scent
Honey: Grave dirt, various drug smoke smells, slight hint of cinnamon
Biography: Oak and moss, old books
Waves: Juniper and sage, coal dust, with a hint of sandalwood
Doc: Metallic, coal smog and seawater
Ash: Mint and chamomile, fresh fallen snow and cold air, antiseptic scent
El Wiwi: Hot metal, dry soil
Poppy: Clean cat fur, light floral/meadow scent
