Karmen could hear the commotion in the common room from two airlocks away. Preparing herself to break up yet another pointless brawl, she rounded the corner to find Dead Letter camped out beside the common room hatch with earbuds in, nose deep in a pile of folders.
"I wouldn't go in there if I were you." she said as Karmen approached. "Last month's rankings just came out and Line Drive is pissed."
"Wait, why? She should have shot way up after that job on Enceladus."
"Razorback. Took down an entire JMU FOB on Mars by themselves; launched them all the way to top five"
"Fuck." Karmen works the hatch open and rushes into the common room before her idiot girlfriend can actually hurt someone.
