ooooh.... how would the moon rotate? through the middle of the donut, all the way around it? spiraling around... the possibilities have got me curious!
i imagined it spiraling around, which probably isn't very realistic, but screw it i already have a non-collapsing donut world, might as well have fun with it
I love that, it'd do such weird things with the tide! and just imagining what their calendar system would be... not just on moon visible or not, or maybe not at all to do with that, but rather about whether the moon is near or close - 'months' being the length of time from the moon passing directly over, spiraling around, and returning again.
and yeah! what is an imaginary world but a sandbox to create cool things in, even if they don't line up with our material reality... or even especially when!
megastructures! hell yeah! these kinds of things are always so interesting. love the effects on these as well, what kind of shaders did you use?
ahh the whole "texture" of the donut is just one blender material i shadered the heck out of! i used a noise texture as a heightmap which I based colors off of and used to divide the land and sea shaders... there's fresnel for the atmosphere, the city lights are a voronoi pattern, it's honestly a mess lmao
oh wow, came out pretty nice! most of my shader experience so far is glsl, been meaning to learn blender shaders
