When the game launched I roasted the absolute fuck out of it for having a terrible skill floor. A Nasty new-player experience, and generally just being a bad time. Shortly after the developers informed us that they intended to make a difficult game to challenge players, but they might've gone too hard.

If you scroll through the patch notes to date there's hardly a one that doesn't include creating further accessibility and downtuning the difficulty. Even their winter DLC drop announcement mentions that they're still tuning things to make it palatable.
I don't intend to be smug, or advocate for all-casual all-the-time gaming, but Garfield Kart has a healthier playerbase right now.
If anything, I think this serves as a warning. Make sure you're reaching outside your hardcore niche market. Make sure you're getting outside eyes on your challenges. It's entirely possible to get lost in your own sauce and make a mess instead of a hit video game.
