I think MOST chinese gachas and f2p games rely on this stuff, so.... hm.
China is such a huge market segment that i hope like, this has secondary effects everywhere just because they don't want to exclude that huge piece of the userbase
The US propaganda machines are always out trying to vilify the country but here's evidence they're responding to new and weird brain dangers brought about by new technology.
I get that there's a lot of complicated stuff going on but this is a far cry from the "maybe try to be less of a foolhardy degenerate gambler you amoral stain" I get as an American when dealing with... Anything. Seeing the government stand up to a business interest doing something exploitative is hella satisfying actually, and I hope they keep doing it. They might not be a perfect utopia over there but damn at least they're trying something instead of actual nothing.
