I've been buying this canned ground beef that Idunno what it is. Some kind of bean soy tofu something. Long story short I had access to ground beef tonight and the thought of seasoning, browning, cleaning up after, etcetera had me grabbing my vegan beef cans anyway.
The BAEF as I would humorously mispronounce it, just plorps out the can and is good to go. Gives my noodles body. Tastes good in sauce. Garlics and onions up just fine.
I wouldn't say it's "the same as" ground beef, but it's just so much easier. Probably also has like, fiber. I'm not Vegan, but it is nice that nobody's in the can either. I get sick of folks accusing vegans of trying to replace all meat forever. Then usually refusing to eat anything made of beans or whatever nutso thing they think of. On their own merits vegan foods are real tasty. Like black bean burger patties.
Tomorrow I'll make another little bowl of pasta, use the rest of the can, and that's that. Can can be target practice. Would encourage more bachelor chow makers to try this out. Makes good chow. Easy cleanup. Easier to poop after eating a real fat bowl of bread and tomato probably. DanouttaDan
