Okay I'm pretty sure nobody on this website gives a quarter of a fuck but I'm actually very about this, and I'm gonna explain myself so hang on don't unfriend me yet.
So disclaimer: I like target shooting. I was raised real rural, and I like doing it cuz I grew up with it, and I'm pretty good at it! I fucking hate the NRA and gun culture at large though. Most of my gun posting is usually about air rifles to avoid the attention of your usual lead poisoned gunpowder huffers. Besides, everyone loves a cool gun in anime or a video game.
Anyway, Hi Point is a firearm company that sells the cheapest and shittiest pistols you can buy. They feature bulky brick-like plastic receivers and are widely known for failures and basically being dogshit.
But they made a real good carbine! It was also lightweight and cheap, made largely of plastic, but the bigger form factor made it controllable, and the plastic body held a lot of rugged and efficient components, for not a lot of dosh! Firing 9mm pistol rounds, it was also real cheap to go out and knock over targets for a day. For an average guy looking to go and practice it is a very sensible firearm, made to a reasonable quality standard, for sensible prices. Like a Honda Accord in the 90s.
Then they replaced that. If you look at the photos I posted with this, you might notice that, while technically the same gun, one of those looks like the handheld equivalent of stepping on a lego. It has a nasty ridged grip covered in attachment rails, and when you fire the fucking thing it jumps in your hands, tearing up your palms. I guess you could invest in tacticool gloves or a foregrip attachment because you're a nutcase, but fuck that. That's stupid gun fashion horseshit. Needless to say, I hate it.
They have brought back the old plastic tho! You can now get new production models of the old, not urban-warrior-styled gun! Clean, easy to hold foregrip that doesn't hurt your hands! No more stupid rails everywhere! I have zero disposable income for a firearm but if I did I would think about getting one. I've never had a bad time with one of these, and they're back!
