@Crabbit-Slater asked:

What tools did you use to make snake farm? How did you think up all the snaeks?

Great questions!

SNAKE FARM uses:

  • Unity for the base game engine
  • Visual Studio for code editing
  • Aseprite for art and animation
  • 1BITDRAGON for music
  • Audacity for SFX
  • DaVinci Resolve for trailer editing

And snake ideas came from any of the following:

  • Figuring out a gameplay niche and working backwards to a theme
  • Figuring out a theme and working forwards to a gameplay niche
  • Figuring out a really stupid joke and trying to turn it into mechanics
  • Looking at the wikipedia list of snakes until something is sufficiently evocative

Actually making the snakes is really easy in my framework, as they all have the same base physical properties! I can modify one snake into another in... I dunno, five, ten minutes? The only reason I stopped at twenty (five per rarity level) is because it felt like a good number, and I didn't want to have TOO much randomness in the shops
