In New Orleans, the afternoon storm shut out power again. A giant "tumbleweed" was seen crossing the road near I-10 on the Northshore. Gulf coast weather, amirite?
I meaaaan... it is COT we're talking about, historically bad at just... yes
(but also good god that storm came outta nowhere)
credit to the city, my power at this house has never been out for more than two hours, and every time it’s had a Clear Cause (tree on line less than a block from me, drunk driver hit a pole, etc). this one took longer because there were no fewer than FOUR TREES DOWN ON LINES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD. mostly just in awe i didn’t lose internet ever
Bah, that's only a few trees! /s
Are you Comcast or Metronet?
metronet, we’ve had an outage before because a tree fell specifically on the line from the street to the house but they were out to fix it within a few hours. they’ve been great to me
(I was gonna complain how they route traffic through an IX in the northern midwest but uh apparently they fixed that. huh.)
I mean......I directly benefited from this because we got Extended Date Time™
