Im a sucker for bird based characters so as soon as I saw this one I knew it was going to be a sculpt for fan art friday. What a amazing design.
Schlegeli
Common Name: Royal Penguin
This species is known for their amazing cooking skills and golden crown of feathers. Every year a large cooking competition is held on the Schlegeli home island of Macquarie where the most amazing dishes are made. There are prizes for the most tasty dish, but also prize for those that can make a tasty dish with some of the most disgusting tasting ingridiants. This is done in the spirit of the Schlegeli legend where their ancestors had to eat the horrible tasting crown of thorns plant to survive.
When it comes to their crowns many Schlegeli will place nicknacks and ornaments in their crown that are important to them or they feel define them. Becuse their crowns are such a vital part of their outward apearance many Schlegeli are devistated if they get dirty or pulled.
Schlegeli Talents
Your skin is resistant to the heat of flames. When taking fire damage you may reduce its amount by your head skill level.
Your skills with cooking and food preparation can make even bad tasting things good. When you cook or prepare food that has one or more negative effects you may negate one of the negative effects of your choosing.
The ease at which you swim almost makes it look like you are flying. Gain +10 movement when swimming. You can also hold your breath for up to one hour under water before you gain the choking condition.

As a long-time member of the Guiding Lights , Gray has spent many nights traveling through storms and braving the Southern Wind causing her attitude to match her surroundings, that is to say cold. She softens up when around children and anyone who is scared, hurt, or nervous. Although she doesn't believe that the Guiding Lights are still really looking for their lost Emperor, she still honors her subspecies legend by telling it around a warm fire to those she rescues from storms. She was one of the youngest Animalian to become a member of the Guiding Lights having decided early on she was going to become one after they rescued her from a fierce winter storm.

The Grandis are a noble subspecies. They guard their targets with unwavering loyalty and many are willing to put down their lives for those that they have sworn to protect. Because of the this the Grandis are often hired for the more dangerous guard duties such as watching dangerous prisoners or repugnant elites.
Although the Grandis choose what jobs they take, many may find themselves taking up less then ideal jobs due to their wandering nature. Most Grandis do not have a place to call home and will sleep out on the hard ground if they do not currently have a job that pays them or gives them free room and board. This is not because they can't own a house, but rather most follow the traditions of their ancestors and choose to not have things that tie them to one place.
